“God is sovereign to give faith to anyone He chooses, so that they will believe in Christ. The same sovereign God who saves, is the same sovereign God who allows sufferings. If we suffer for the sake of Christ—that is, if we suffer doing good and pursuing righteousness—then it is God’s blessing that we can exclaim ‘to live is Christ, and to die is gain’.”
