CAREER MOVE

Proverbs 16:3

Choosing the right career is like being lost in a forest and having to choose the road out. Some people, however, never choose a road, or they continually go down the same dead-end roads. Where are you in terms of career choices?

A Christian must always consider God’s will and plan for his lie. Earnest prayer and a willingness to obey are necessary. Following God’s will, however, also has practical considerations. For example, in choosing a specific career, one must evaluate one’s physical and mental capabilities. One must also assess the talents that God has given him.

It is not uncommon for us to find people who change careers at mid-life. Many would argue that all their earlier choices and pursuits were imposed on them by momentary situations. But the moment they muster enough courage, they make their move often, at mid-life.

Making the right decision is a combination of spiritual and practical considerations. But if we commit to the Lord everything that we do, He will sanctify the practical aspects of our lives and use them for His kingdom as well.

Meditation:
You will never find peace at work until you’re doing what God really wants you to do. This applies in choosing a career or even choosing a ministerial vocation.

Prayer:
Lord, take away my wants and my will. Let Your plans operate in my life.
